i actually talk to my neighbourhood dustmen sometimes
they're nice people and sometimes i ask if they can help me dispose of bulky things or if they want something which is still working but i have no more use for..
contact with the "outside world" will always be there
and deathdude, you're living in a pipe dream of escapism if you keep running away

it is.. however, you still have to go to the interviews, meet clients, meet your bosses, stuff like that.. and if you work from home, these things will become very very VERY important...
and if you end up working in a SOHO, they will come to your place unannounced because they can... and you will probably be stressed until you get a nervous breakdown if you persist in pandering to your "i'm shy" thing..

Deathy, if it's any encouragement to you, in my teens, I was pretty shy and stuck to my comfy little group of friends.
Everytime I tried to reach out, it would end up in disappointment or embarrassment or whatever negatives. So, I stopped trying for a while.
It doesn't work that way. We just aren't meant to exist alone.
Sooner or later, you'll realise that similar situations will keep on happening to you. That's because there's a lesson you're meant to learn that you haven't yet learnt, and until you grab the bull by the horns and learn it, similar instances will keep on recurring until you do.
It wasn't easy for me to adjust to work. Till today, there are things about people and all that, that I'm still learning. I still commit stupid, embarrassing mistakes because things like that don't come naturally to me, but well, I just keep on trying.
Deathy, don't isolate yourself from the world - you rob yourself of beautiful encounters that way too! -

i think herein, we may have isolated one of the causes of the problem..
there are people who have no contact with other people, working out there...
being too "shy" and refusing to do anything about it when younger, they finally go out there because they are forced to go get a job, then stressed to hell in a working environment, and ill-equipped with basic social skills, filled with self-loathing for being stressed when meeting people, they will never provide proper service....
