we are men of necessitiesOriginally posted by Nelstar:From my personal research, majority of the men goes for items they need.
Design gets thrown out of the window...
Women goes for items they love.
Design plays a big part in their spending.
The greatest difference is that women had a greater spending impulse. They buy because they think they will need.
They confessed occassionally to having a cupboard of unused... (more than sufficient to last a lifetime collection... just for the design...)
Whereas men would be found always forced to shop when things run out.
Oh dear! Then what would you think of this scenario:Originally posted by the Bear:again, maybe i'm old school...
someone buys me something, it's a gift from the heart.. exchanging it is a no-no, no matter what the price of it was...
once it is given, especially from someone who loves me, it becomes precious..
that sounds like the words from jackie cheung for NKF commercialOriginally posted by Wanda:Oh dear! Then what would you think of this scenario:
Hubby gave me a pottery book for my bday, without realising that I'd already bought the book for myself some months ago. So, I asked him if I could give it to my then coursemate (exchange was not possible, coz the bookfair ended), and he said ok. I had to give the bday copy from my darl to my coursemate, bec. it's a newer copy than the one I bought which I had flipped through.
So what do you ppl think?
The book was given for practical reason, and someone once said "It's better to give than to receive"?
Hmm... I've had a similar situation a while back. It wasn't with my hubby though, since I don't have one yet!Originally posted by Wanda:Oh dear! Then what would you think of this scenario:

A close friend gave me a CD which I already own. So, I asked him to write something inside the CD cover so that I can remember him by, then I kept the one he gave me, and gave away the one I owned.
luckily I don't donate to their causeOriginally posted by Wanda:Talking about him, when he visited NKF several years ago at the Clementi Dialysis centre, the NKF painted the whole premises with a fresh coat of paint to welcome him....i think it was to look nice on tv.
