lols, my place now undergoing fall soon.. before i experienced winter, i always longed for it.. now that i've experienced it before, i hate it.. cant do ANYTHING outdoors

I hate winter over here, so cold and snowing all the time, cannot go out at all w/o feeling uncomfortable
Fall is kinda nice, but always look gloomy and it rains a lot too... -
first year i was here, it hit -59 celsius (with wind-chill) one morning on a school day ..... I took 3 steps out of the house and went back in .... skipped school that day ...
but I love autumn though ... especially on those glorious early autumn days when the wild-flowers of summer are still in bloom ... and the leaves are turning scarlett and gold .... and the sky is a deep startling blue ....

Rhonda, for Melbourne the issue isn't so much temperature as wind-chill. Get a jacket that doesn't let the wind right through it and you're off to a good start. I just picked up this 3/4 Angora wool overcoat that's not too thick, but it's got an excellent inner lining that will keep the wind out, and it works great.
It IS more sensible to get your clothes here, and if possible, shop off-season to get the best prices. Since you're arriving in the early part of the year, you should be OK because the warm clothing will be priced for clearance.
