i studied chinese by reading the\ose wu xia small talkOriginally posted by ^spidee^:My best subject was Chinese. The way I studied was literally watching TV and listening to YES 93.3 FM , and of course practising how to write new words and essays. The handbook (ci yu shou ce) was especially handy.
Gee, sounds so much like the philosophy I adopted when studying.Originally posted by HENG@:strongest subject: English
tips: just identify the sort of reading materials that interest u, and then keep reading it non-stop. i did that to the detriment of a lot of my other subjects. but i aced english without any effort.
looks like your memory very good? teach me?Originally posted by Rhonda:Gee, sounds so much like the philosophy I adopted when studying.
I would work towards aceing it in my best subjects, and ignoring my weaker subjects, which was stupid. But then again, during 'O' levels, I was a headstrong teenager who thought I knew everything!
During 'O' levels, my strong subjects were English, Pure Biology, Bible Knowledge and English Literature.
At 'A' levels, my strong subjects were English Literature and GP.
My Achilles heel - Math and Chinese. I probably have the worst case of Math phobia ever known.
it wasn't that i ignored my weaker subjects. it was just that i got so much enjoyment from reading that i counted it as a leisure activity, and because im lazy, i refuse to do any work, and prefered to indulge in leisure activities only.Originally posted by Rhonda:Gee, sounds so much like the philosophy I adopted when studying.
