This is one of the 10 moves, called Ye Li Cang Hua means hide a flower in the leaf...often used one lah....get used to it.Originally posted by choco B:Well then it's bull.
Just another way to generate revenue
At the price he's paying just for the "venue", he'd better hear the birds sing and bells ring when they are pronounced man and wife
Well, the principle behind it is not right. It's good to bring issues like this up, so that public awareness is raised and then, only then, can we start to hope that the awareness might fire someone up to try to push for change.Originally posted by chunyong:This is one of the 10 moves, called Ye Li Cang Hua means hide a flower in the leaf...often used one lah....get used to it.
no use one lah....cos there is another move called 'wu di bi sheng shou'.... wat u have or do oso can't win one....Originally posted by Rhonda:Well, the principle behind it is not right. Sadly, here, it's hard to get one united voice against things that aren't done right because most Singaporeans are either apathetic (bo-chup) or jaded (bo-hew).

what i heard is... if u book via the agency, u use the agency's venue n solemnizer...Originally posted by choco B:Unless Love That Binds has JPs who work for the company. If they're a seperate entity from ROM, then they will naturally have their own timetable of available timeslots .
But if I had to do it outside of ROM, I wouldn't choose Love That Binds anyway.
well...it worked...I am here...Originally posted by shinta:is conspiracy too strong a word?
let's vote n make this come up under featured =X
what would U choose?Originally posted by choco B:But if I had to do it outside of ROM, I wouldn't choose Love That Binds anyway.

oh..Originally posted by choco B:In that case, Love That Binds is likely to have their own schedule, and is not linked to ROM's schedule. Thus not surprising that your friend can get a slot at Love That Binds and not ROM.

back to rom den..
isn it crazy to see slots are all full when u tried to book at 12 midnight?
say i wan a date on 04 oct 2005, n i logged in at 4 july 2005.. n i got that msg when i logged in at 00 00 hours
when to the link of Love that binds..Originally posted by shinta:a fren told me he couldn get a slot when he logged in at 12 midnight sharp 3 mths before his desired date to sign the stupid paper.
The ROM people said slots are taken up very quickly. but at 12 midnight? all slots?
But when he approached the agency Love That Binds, and they got him the date n time.
@ an extra $160. $26 still has to be made to ROM tho.. So in total he paid $186.
solemnising at the new home is nice...but I dont have the luxury of doing it because our flat is under construction now...so I guess I'll take the easy way and fight it out on the net for the desired date in ROM...Originally posted by choco B:I'd choose some place more significant to us. I mean if you've decided not to solemnise at ROM, why bother to go back to that venue, or spend money at that venue?
If we had our flat back then, I think solemnising at home is very meaningful. The memories created in your very own home would be priceless.
Other places that can be fun are gardens, poolside, riverside gazebo, etc. Of course this means more work and planning involved for the event.
erm.. guess it should be ok for me to tell bah...Originally posted by choco B:What date issit actually?

ignorance is bliss, dats true most of the time.
Must be... its more profitable selling flats to singles at 35 n above.... ? cos they got no grants nth...Originally posted by Nelstar:I don't see any reason for ROM to have no empty slot at 12 midnight, and I really don't see why the Govt does not want more people to get married on special dates.
Is the Government discouraging marriages?
thanks.Originally posted by choco B:Solemnistion at ROM is definitely more convenient.
Looking beyond the frills... What is most important is the significance and meaning of the event
Congratulations to you and your partner! I hope you get your desired date
