bad debts in accounting means doubtful debts, which in this case affect only the borrowers. For consumer, there are no bad debts, only bankruptcy.Originally posted by dragg:CC contributes a hell lot to bad debts.
Cashline allows you to draw CASH, something like an overdraft. You are immediately charged for interest the moment you draw from your account.Originally posted by pqr:i dont think so...i have no idea the diff...sorry
credit card can also b used to withdraw cash.Originally posted by Gazelle:Cashline allows you to draw CASH, something like an overdraft. You are immediately charged for interest the moment you draw from your account.
As for credit card, it is use first pay later. As long as you pay on time, there will be no interest charge.
I hope I am correct...
Doubtful debts are provisions for debt going bad. They are not the same.Originally posted by Gazelle:bad debts in accounting means doubtful debts, which in this case affect only the borrowers. For consumer, there are no bad debts, only bankruptcy.
technically it is not the same in the books, but from shareholders point of view they are the same. doubtful debts are just debts waiting to be written off.Originally posted by Lingos:Doubtful debts are provisions for debt going bad. They are not the same.
Bad debts are debts that are not recoverable and should be written off.
Whereas doubtful debts is a provision to predict the amount of debts that will go bad in the future so as not to overstate assets and understate liabilities.
Har? What talking you? If really want to be simple and basic, then would become a peasant, not yuppie lah. Urbanists by definition are not minimalists. Whats e point of getting cards just for e discounts n offers (which i tink its a cover-up / excuse for pple who truly mind abt his/her level of status in this overly-materialistic SG society.
I am pretty sure Sakae Sushi dont offer 1 for 1 for 365 days per year right? And I am also pretty sure that the price of that 1 is already enough for cover for the cost of 3. And promotion is always happen during the low season or off peak days. Therefore at the end of the day, it is the you who will end up spending the money and the CC company and merchant making it.Originally posted by siginah:Har? What talking you? What's the point of getting cards for discounts? That's exactly the point lor. Like I like to eat sashimi, and Sakae had 1-for-1 offers for UOB card holders. Then you can get points and exchange for more food vouchers. :-)
And don't have to carry so much cash. Good mah.

to my understanding...this rule can be waived if the card holder(most likely a supp card) is going overseas for studies...not too sure of the exact conditions...just read about it before...Originally posted by spencer99:U r not allowed to ahve a credit card at 20.
