is CFA useful?

  hi everyone! how is your weekends?
  
  i got question to ask: is CFA useful? i planning to switch job and in fact a career change to finance industry but no revelant experience or qualifications. im thinking of doing CFA and hope that will help me in transition but cfa seems tough and quite expensive so wondering if those in the finance industry can advise if cfa is indeed useful??

  i don't think they'll let you do a CFA course without relevant experience

  Bear's right. CFA is a professional qualification and they do have stringent criteria. Rightfully, they ought to take in candidates who already have a certain level of job experience, not greenhorns. Theory alone just won't cut it.

  Same thing, I would guess. NO point getting an ACCA qualification with NO prior substantial experience. All the Chartered courses are like that. They need to upkeep their standards and reputation.

  no leh i heard from my cousin that they can let you start at the diploma level too.. soo longer process..

  acca course requires u to possess a dip in accountancy or related dip to skip 1st level.
  
  u can apply for the course if u're above 21 w/o the relevant dips..
  
  CFA requires a few years of workin exp in the field.

  it qualifies you to, but it doesn't guarantee you will.

  But nowadays any tom dick or harry are just taking it for the fun of it. Spoiling market. Wouldn't be surprised if Singapore starts super-saturating with ACCA qualified people.

  level one is $300+, level 2 is $400+ and leve 3 is $500 per course.
