It's over...I was dumped....giving myself some time to cower in self pity before i try to pick myself up again....It always seems easier to just comfort others when it doesn't happen to ourself....

I'm in the same situation right now which is I have to let go of somebody even if HE means alot to me...
Actually, I'm asking the same question as yours... but I just woke up oneday and made me realize that love has no boundaries that's why when he finds his happiness all you have to do is to let him go even if it means alot of tears coz in the end you will say to yourself "your happiness is my happiness"...

Pick up yourself and walk again. I believe their are lots of people still caring for you. It not the end of the world.
never self corner, we are very miserable coz we made ourselves to believe how pitiful we are. So dnt do that. Enjoy your singlehood like you never did b4, go out with friends don't stay alone. it helps..

I feel that it is a romantic, sentimental notion, a kind of self-delusional mechanism, in a way, to think that if we truly love someone, we'd be happy to see that person happy with someone else.
It's a self-sacrificial concept popularised by a lot of love songs, esp Mandarin ones.
I think we're deceiving ourselves if we don't mourn over our loss first, before proceeding to that stage. Before you reach that stage where you can be so generous with your love, there will be months upon months of heartache, pain, tears, wrenching heartache, moving around feeling as if there's no meaning in a lot of things you used to do together now that you're apart, etc etc. You don't reach that stage this early in a breakup.
Eventually, we'll realise that yes, we might still love the person, but the person has chosen to move on and not to spend the rest of his/her life with us, so we have no choice, but to let our love go free too. And yes, sooner or later, we'll have this quiet acceptance whereby we'll be able to bless the one we loved with whoever he/she chooses to lead his/her life with.
But again, that's not before months of gut-wrenching agony.
Don't speed up the healing process... go with the flow, cry and wail if you must, but don't shut yourself out from your friends and the rest of the world.
Because, for all you know, the one who's really meant for you might just be round the corner, and I'm sure you wouldn't want to shut him/her out! -
