Karaoke-ing!

How many of you frequent karaoke places? Which would you recommend?
I'm wondering why the karaoke places here are so full of Mandarin pop songs, and the English songs, if they have any, are the oldies.
Why can't we have karaoke tracks from Alanis Morissette / Natalia Imbruglia / Simply Red / Laura Fygi / Jamie Cullum and dare-I-say-it, Britney Spears etc etc?
WHY??
I don't know any new Mandarin pop songs and even if I know the songs, if they don't come with hanyu pinyin, I'm doomed, man! 
So, if you do karaoke, what are your na2 shou3 songs? (songs that you perform very well). -

people say my voice is a mix in between elvis and tom jones..eh nono is their voice mix together become mine..

beacause sg is a cheena community..and no la,chinese songs are cheaper plus always got original mtv..thats a plus for people wanting to sing chinese songs..

and all chinese songs... hahaha... cos my ang moh pronunciation no good... ;P -

No na2 shou3 songs.. juz scroll & see.. if familiar juz anyhow hantum. Can be eng/canto (although pronounciation not accurate) or chinese / hokkien.

i cheena one, only noe chinese and cantonese songs....
angmoh one, i can only rem 1 song title "only love" by trademark.... and i can't even sing TAT song!
usually if "accidentally" gotten songs w/o original mtv, i eject!!! -
I think I only went Karaoke'ing almost a decade ago!
Back then, I only dared to sing a few Mandarin songs, because I sing them at home and in the bathroom soooo often, I could remember the lyrics, even without hanyu pinyin!
Lan Xing Mei's - Ai Wo Dao Jing Shen
Dong An Ge's - Wang Bu Liao (NOT that old Wang Bu Liao song! Another version!)
That's about it.
Once I hold the mike, I get all scared and my throat feels tight and I cannot sing because I start to shiver. Got karaoke fright! -
Doesn't matter if i sing chinese or english songs....i'll just break the glasses with my horrid voice. Haha...but i do enjoy karoke sessions

i am too old for karaoke leow.
I cant even recognise any songs on top 10 chart for many years. If i go to karaoke, most probably i ger chase out singning those "ah pek" songs.
