The hawker ctr in Holland V (opposite Coffee Bean) is officially open now!
I hope the good stores are still around! The very popular beehoon-mee and tao suan store, the famous fishball mee pok / prawn noodles store with loooooong queues everyday, the Laksa Yong Tau Foo ... Yummy!!!
Lau, stella, deathy, LazerLordz... since you guys study near this area, maybe one day, after your school, let's go there and makan?

So far, I only recognise the Hakka Yong Tau Fu stall in the new hawker ctr that's from the old hawker ctr too. I cannot find my favourite mee pok stall that was very popular, nor the yew char kuay / ham jim bang stall, nor the beehoon stall with tau suan...!!
I heard mom say that a lot of the stall owners decided to rent out their stalls for a quick and easy source of income, instead of toiling day and night to sell their food.

Has anyone else gone to that new hawker centre at Holland V?
I still prefer the stalls in the old one!

i tried the fish slice mee sua soup sold by the old woman at the stall in the centre. $2.50. small portion of mee sua. some lettuce. some soup. THREE tiny slices of fish. d$rn expensive!!! taste so-so nia - a bit oily even. i can pay $1 more and get thrice the fish slices with better tasting soup. not gonna buy from that stall again.
the nasi lemak stall is the same as the shop one on the other side of lor mambong - the one rhonda likes. i asked why open another stall so near each other - the woman say some ppl like to eat in shop some ppl like to eat in hawker. weird logic...

Have you tried the lovely Hakka Yong Taufoo yet? Try it with Laksa! Sedap!! (But make sure you aren't heaty from all the CNY goodies first! )
And yeah... weird logic re. the nasi lemak!

I went to HV for a quick lunch today but cannot even find a decent parking lot there. All taken up. Now I know why so many ppl hates going there......Circle Line construction going on, road diversion everywhere, lack of parking lots, newbies driving there blur like sotong etc etc. End up went to ghim moh market.....
Oh, how come burger king in HV missing huh??? -

went to HV on Friday night... quite a happening place...
Kind of hard to get a table at the cafes though.. -

I don't like the new Coffee Club look though. -
Those little stalls in the market facing beans was successfully out at $2.2k~3k. How to survive? Whilst the coffee stall owner inside the market now pay only $700.

Tried the western food, chicken cutlet with fried rice with omelette @ $4. It sounds expensive, but the serving is big and the fried rice was delicious, ..., worth a try.
The ice milo served @ $1 was good too. It is thick and chocky, unless some who could be milky instead. -
There are actually two western food stalls there. The coffee stall belongs to the english speaking lady who used to tune into english radio stations.
