the story of Sang Nila Utama add something to our life here, just as Malaysians would retell the story of Sang Kanchil and all the heroes to their children
Actually a lot of Asian countries have their own folklore.
I remember the tale of the Mousedeer and the Crocodile and the story of Hang Tuah of Malaysia, and in Indonesia, there was this Princess Alitaptap story that I loved as a kid.
Even Singapore has a collection of children's stories in a hardcover edition.
