I don't like to buy deli meats from FP. I find the one sold at Cold Storage taste better. The chipolatas taste better from Cold Storage too.Originally posted by Wanda:Am quite fed up - the pork chipolatas I bought from Fairprice yesterday evening was not fresh. There was no way to tell until I open up the packet at home, hoping to cook dinner, and straight away I could smell it. Had written to them to complain.
Oh goodness!! It must be their improper / inadequate refrigeration!Originally posted by Wanda:Am quite fed up - the pork chipolatas I bought from Fairprice yesterday evening was not fresh. Well, it was a last min purchase and FP was nearest to my home. Having learnt my lesson, if I have to buy from FP in future, what I shd do is - after paying, stand past the cashier counter, open up the sausages to check for freshness before leaving. If they're no good, can go straight in to complain.Originally posted by elindra:I don't like to buy deli meats from FP. I find the one sold at Cold Storage taste better. Mustafa is quite near to your workplace, right? But dunno got deli or not? Can buy saffron...the missing spice at my home.Originally posted by elindra:FP is nearest to my home too
Yeah it isOriginally posted by Wanda:Mustafa is quite near to your workplace, right? But dunno got deli or not? Can buy saffron...the missing spice at my home.
a little flavorOriginally posted by Wanda:Does the saffron really give it the flavour? Meaning, without it, the rice/dish tastes plain like that? I can't remember if I'd had it.
Some spices got no flavour one, e.g. tumeric...only gives colour.
But you don't really want to pay for saffron all the time you knowOriginally posted by Rhonda:If you're making paella and don't have saffron, it's almost sacrilegious!
