I did cranberry/walnuts logs. Wah, that one is a murder man. Very siong. Maybe because I am lousy lah. At first I chill the log. Then cut it up, like sua sua like that. So throw it back to the freezer. Then, guess what? Too frozen to cut. Use chopper. Don't know why. Chopper cut things buay straight one. So, in the end, can cut but the cookies turn out to be some really uneven shaped cookies. Aiyah, boh pian liao lah. Already hand like want to drop already.
My mocca balls is a no-fail receipe. Did tons of it to give away to friends. In, I got so fed up with that cranberry thingy, I made some into balls too. And include it in the cookies tins to my friends.....pretending it to be cranberry/walnut balls instead.
Anyways, no pic to show. Want to see part of my living room? We decorated late November so we can enjoy the decor longer. Otherwise, all the effort and then enjoy it for only a month.
You're very good at improvising and making the best of a bad situation! Turning that log into balls was funny!

You do have a lot of Christmas decorations. How long did it take you to build that collection?
I used to have a teeny-meeny little Christmas tree that I put wee-bitty-little decorations on and placed it on top of my TV... but my cats mauled the tree into some mis-shapen mess! -
