Tonight, I finally discovered why I have been sabotaged and treated with disdain and sheer hostility by a few colleagues in my new workplace.
It was because I fought hard to be in there, instead of being posted out of the ICU. These folks worked hard to earn the 'right' to be where they are and here I am, a newbie with lesser paper qualifications than them, stepping into their turf.
They used to have other colleagues who were also non-trained like me, in their territory, but those other colleagues are no longer allowed inside because they don't hold the necessary paper qualifications yet.
Neither do I. But because of some 'special private assignment' that I was initially slated to do and which I no longer need to do now, I was transferred there, not by choice, but by supreme command from the higher-up's.
I had my own agenda... I needed to keep myself in there because I'll be heading for Australia soon and I need my last work environment to be in an area that I intend to specialise in and further my studies in, to improve my chances of getting to do what I really want over there.
So, here I was, just safeguarding my vested interests... but there they were, thinking that I was snobbish and presumptious enough to step inside and work with them.
So, for the longest time, I was targetted and a few of them went all out to make my life miserable.
Gee, I actually withstood all that mistreatment and am still standing strong!
Not an easy feat... I do have my down days and man, I really appreciate my close friends who've been standing by me! Couldn't have done it all and kept my sanity intact without them!
Now that I know the truth of the matter, my suspicions are confirmed and well, although I'm STILL targetted and disliked by a few, I know that I'm still standing strong, I'm still a fighter, and I'm still a survivor!
Wahooooo!! Stormy weather still ahead, but it ain't gonna git me down!

Gai gai? This morning had to get something done before work and I was on the PM shift today, so no chance to gai gai. Haiz!! -

maybe Tech Branch... sort things out from the inside...
so many "IT Systems" that don't do anything other than piss people off because we're forced to use them by a senior management which doesn't have to...
or the battlezones where we do the necessary immigration work...
or "Community Involvement" section with outreach to the public?

Usually i wouldnt give second thoughts to low life who think even the most innocent guy must be evil, conspiracies which doesnt exist at all and other agendas and rumours with no basis

Orh, PM shift ah? Orh, okay. Jiak pah beh? I'm quite hungry liao. Debating if I should go to the mall. Want to pick up pecans. Saw one cookie receipe with pecans in it. -

pick up about akg of pecans...
roast...
pop about a huge vat of corn
mix with pecans..
mix a heck of a lot of caramel flavoured icing and pour into mixture of pecans and corn
mix thoroughly before icing solidifies...
allow to solidify...
break into pieces and eat..

It's a different ballgame in here. I'm a junior in terms of ranking, in this new place. I do not have the requisite paper qualifications (because I do not want to sign on yet another 3-year bond for an 11-month course), and there are lots of things at this new workplace that I'm not familiar with.Originally posted by the Bear:usually, i fight back.. and they are the ones who feel the heat
So, because of all these factors working against me, it'll do me more harm than good if I were to roar like a lioness when I'm actually a wee kitten.
I'm already treading on eggshells because they resent my intrusion into their 'territory', and this workplace does have a reputation because they have a strong 'culture' and they aren't exactly accepting of newbies.
If I'm really good at my job, I can perhaps roar... but thing is, I'm a junior, I need their guidance afterall, so, I can't even mew sometimes. -

when i was pretty junior, i still fought coz when i'm right, i know i'm right.. the others were just being idiotic and following orders blindly

We have a couple of "these" here too. I know sometimes it's easier said than done but don't let it bother you. If it does, come back here and rant. We are all ears. -
