Anything nice to do in Sanur (Bali)?

Am going for a trip to Bali soon... really looking forward to it!
Has anyone been to Sanur before, and if so what is good to eat / see / buy? Thanks in advance

I guess no one here's been there, else there'd be some mention of it... But that's alright, I'll just chill out at the hotel and occasionally venture out into the Village for some shopping

er i have been to Sanur in 2000...thats 5 years ago.. i wonder if they still have the Grand Bali Beach Hotel i stayed in...
In one word to describe Sanur is creepy...

Balinese are predominantly Hindus, so expect to see their stone sculptures of idols and gods. Just respect them and side-step their offerings. It's not scary at all...in fact, Bali feels free....and you can have your yummy Bintang beer. -

Thoroughly enjoyed Sanur... stayed at the Mercure which was resort-style.. with the beach at my doorstep! So heavenly, we ladies went for the beach massage which was a new experience for me.
The locals were friendly, the food was yummy. Went to Jimbayan (sp?) Bay for dinner & took some pics, will post them up when I've sorted them out! -
God i loved Bali..
But i wasn't in that area.
I was in.. erm.. god.. what is it called. Where is Novotel again? Gosh... that area was mostly family oriented resorts. -

I thought Jimbaran is near Kuta which is where the party animals stayed.

There's a restaurant down the road from Novotel called Bambu Bali.
Goddarn the best food i've ever had!
So cheap too.. Amex card holders get 15% or was it 10% off. -
There's a place called Rainbow Beach.. where all the fashion mags send their models and photographers there for fashion shoots.
We saw a famous Aussie model but i am not fashion crazy so i didn't know her name...
Roxy or was it Ripcurl's ad was shot in Rainbow beach as well. It's a surf beach, very beautiful and very rustic. You can stay there for like... $9 a night right on the beach front. You get Bintangs and food for much cheaper.
However you gotta deal with the irritating vendors.. do you want massage... massage, NO NO NO NO NO.
I managed to get one of those embiodered loose Indian style tops for like AU$8.
Anyway definitely go to Bambu Bali that is the most famous restaurant in Bali. -

And they bomb the bleeding place again. I felt like an idiot saying it's safe!! -
