ooh sounds yummy!! :p~~ Thx, Wanda! Paper steamboat - what is that?Originally posted by Wanda:Hi SL, the food is a mix of Japanese (sushi, sashimi, tempura, tepanyaki), western (oysters, cold prawns, scallops, starters, etc.), Chinese paper steamboat (dinner only), Chinese, western & local buffet (satay, otah, etc.) dishes, desserts and ice-cream. Quality-wise, the dishes range from average to good, but it's cheap and there's a good variety to eat. Dinner is $26 net.
Enjoy yourselves.

Hmm... interesting!Originally posted by the Bear:it's a gimmick..
soup and stuff in a paper dish with a flame underneath the paper dish.. the dish will not burn as the boiling temp of the soup is lower than the ignition point of the paper.. so your soup is kept hot
Kuishin-Bo also has... but i didn't eat that.. i was too busy with the crab
Originally posted by SydneyLibrarian:Hmm... interesting!

Japanese jelly dessert? Hmm... Konyakku jelly?Originally posted by SydneyLibrarian:Went there this evening... the food was great!! We had sushi, sashimi, dim sum, yummy soup in some kind of paper dish, and lots of desserts, including my favourite.... durian puff! Yum yum... and the Japanese jelly dessert was nice too, forgot what it was called, though.
oh yea! it was very nice, huh? That was the first time I've tried it!Originally posted by Rhonda:Japanese jelly dessert? Hmm... Konyakku jelly?
Alamak! You forgot that your mom placed a huge oyster on my plate, I looked at it, and placed it on your plate when she wasn't looking?Originally posted by SydneyLibrarian:oh yea! it was very nice, huh? That was the first time I've tried it!
the oysters were good too.. didn't see you eat any though. Or was I too busy scoffing food down that I didn't notice?
Add a squeeze of lemon and tabasco sauce and it won't seem that bad liao....heheh....i agree it's an acquired taste. I usually eat only 2 oysters at Sakura....which I've visited several times this yr.Originally posted by Rhonda:Alamak! I don't eat oysters that are uncooked. Pardon me but I can't help thinking of that Hep thing!
Besides, it kinda looks... slimey and eewy, all snug in its shell!
