My dad do some rice trading one mahOriginally posted by Wanda:Thanks....I must take down this info....u are so informative on these type of household and bus details.
By the way, is there more than one brand of 'golden pheonix'? I find there seems to be 2 types of golden pheonix....the one i bot has See Hoy Chan...must be the wholesaler-importer, I guess.
It is like that, the old SBS in the 1980's is still hereOriginally posted by av98m:SBS is really quite screwed up. taking the horribly crammed buses to and fro daily can be a pretty dehumanising experience. Especially when you're all the way at the back and fighting a human horde to get to the exit to alight and the fucking bus driver starts driving off before you do.
Waa....i'm not going to buy the 50kg bag of rice leh....it's just me and my SO u know.Originally posted by sbst275:My dad do some rice trading one mah
By right over the years, the 10kg bags is only imported by See Hoy Chan... The other is Yamakawa, this one there has been ppl complaining and lastly is NTUC FairPrice, this one equally bad
As for 50kg old crop bags, there are roughly 4 importers incl See Hoy Chan importing Golden Phoenix from Thailand
New Crop so far only See Hoy Chan and Tai Seng Leong imports
hmm i thought i had told you at some point lolOriginally posted by elindra:You mean somewhere along the line in your genes you were?
... 50kg bags more sellable as they sell to ppl like hawkers so there are more importersOriginally posted by Wanda:Waa....i'm not going to buy the 50kg bag of rice leh....it's just me and my SO u know.
I would never ever buy the NTUC housebrand for as long as I can help it. I tried it once...dunno what I bought, but the quality was so bad, and I'd rather pay 20cts more for non-NTUC brands.
1kg and vacuum packed... Must be Royal Umbrella, that belongs to PSC one right?Originally posted by choco B:I buy rice in 1 kg vacuum pack It's small and cute and fits into a tupperware , guarantee no weevils.
U must be eating very little rice. 1 kg pack is not so economical. The usual ones are the 5kg pack....I'll pour some out into the small rice bin, the rest keep within the bag inside a big tupperware.Originally posted by choco B:I buy rice in 1 kg vacuum pack It's small and cute and fits into a tupperware , guarantee no weevils.

Eh...this reminds me...Posbank just issued this Everyday Mastercard which gives rebates at various places, including Carrefour. My SO was sent this 'free'? platinum card in the mail, and I just got a free so-called 'upgrade' to maybank's platinum visa card too.Originally posted by the Bear:the folks don't even buy rice anymore... they just use the points on their fuel card to exchange for the stuff
The old passengers from the 80s and much earlier are still there too. Its like fighting to get onto a refugee boat to escape some invading army, boarding buses and trains in singapore. People just keep trying to cut ahead of you.Originally posted by sbst275:It is like that, the old SBS in the 1980's is still here
Only that these days buses are usually aircon except for 240 non aircon buses and are auto gear unlike mainly manual gear those days

Am wonder: is the average-income cardholders' mkt being flooded with platinum cards now? We are definitely far from earning those platinum level salaries, as far as I know. So what's happening?

I used to care about credit cards. Now I don't. What really matters is your bank balance.Originally posted by elindra:Platinium doesn't carry the prestige anymore
If you notice, the subscription you pay is higher than a normal card
They also treat it as a reward for good customers who are loyal
