Must say cats are an 'acquired taste', and not everyone can tolerate their aloofness at times...unlike the ever-begging dogs which are easy to like...except for the perpetual dog smell. -

I think solitary creatures like cats make good pets for people that may be too busy to devote a lot of their time to their pets. The difference between cats and dogs was never more apparent when I visited SPCA last time. The cats were all either sleeping, just relaxing etc and looked perfectly content. I like cats but I love dogs.
I had a flat coated retriver before that plays hide-and-seek with me in the garden (I was really young then). Couldn't find him once coz we played in the garden at night and he was black In the end, he was hiding under the honeydew vines we had in our garden -

Well, there is a growing trend here but not that common yet
