My faultOriginally posted by Rhonda:See what you've done, elindra!!!
Right after posting the above post, I walked around the house singing a Lunar New Year song without even realising it at first!
I have the same idea as wellOriginally posted by Wanda:No....think I shd plan for a getaway holiday next CNY.
For the past few years, that's what my parents have done!Originally posted by Wanda:No....think I shd plan for a getaway holiday next CNY.
I agree with you, especially when you're married and have no kid! Give until you bleed dry man.Originally posted by av98m:CNY is a lot more fun when you're a kid.
The food! The sweets! The red packets!
The fun and games and mischief with your fellow kids!
And the fireworks! (if you celebrate in Malaysia..but now cannot already)
CNY as an adult:
If you're married, give red packet until scared
Also if you have no kids people will keep asking why not
If your single , and am no longer young, you feel embarrased to receive red packets
And then they will ask you why no girlfriend/boyfriend etc
Actually, your giving AP now is payback for all the APs you'd received when you were a kid/still single and eligible to collect AP.Originally posted by elindra:I agree with you, especially when you're married and have no kid! Give until you bleed dry man.
Aiya, giving ang pao is only a gesture what why make such a big fuss out of it.Originally posted by elindra:I agree with you, especially when you're married and have no kid! Give until you bleed dry man.
it is you that is miserable, not the tradition.Originally posted by av98m:Sometimes I think we Chinese have lots of traditions designed to make people's lives miserable.
e.g. Wedding Dinners, Chinese New Year etc

Watta do? Even maybe I can avoid the qn "When having another 1 for now?"Originally posted by elindra:I'm starting to dread it
The thought of intrusive questions about "When you're having babies" and such is a turn-off, plus Chris is refusing to apply for leave as he wants to avoid the nonsense and also the nice renumeration he'll be getting if he works on CNY.
i don't wana know when is mine..Originally posted by shade343:Im already having make up lessosn this week!!! :X
Dont be a disgrace by asking this kinda of question lah. As a chinese if you dont celebrate CNY, what do you celebrate? following ang moh to celebrate Christmas? eating log cake is better than chinese steam boat?Originally posted by elindra:Seems that everyone have that idea
I really wonder if anyone will celebrate CNY after the older generation have gone
elindra, don't worry... if there's even the remote danger of CNY dying out altogether, the govt will start a ''Celebrate your CNY!'' campaign!Originally posted by elindra:Seems that everyone have that idea
