Everyday background noise - the copier whirring, phones ringing, coworkers chatting - may be to blame, according to a recent study at Cornell University.
''You may not even be aware of these sounds, but they make it more difficult to concentrate, which wrecks havoc on your motivation and stress level,'' says study coauthor, Gary Evans, PhD.
To keep all that racket from ruining your day, restructure your schedule : If your office is quieter in the morning, use that time for tasks that require concentration (reading, writing) and save mindless duties (opening mail, filing) for noisier periods.''

And uncontrolable gossipping women colleagues is the number one source of the noise in the office.

In my previous ward, it used to be :
#1 : The Nursing 'Sisters' from hell;
#2 : The demanding patients and visitors; and
#3 : The workload.
Now, in my new workplace, it's :
#1 : The colleagues;
#2 : The workload; and
#3 : Erm... the colleagues! -
mine is....
the piling work load... from ppl hu loves to give them to me 1 day before the deadline despite the GM's instruction to give them to me 1 week before
so i take my own sweet time to finish them and blame the overdue on them -

It's hell, I tell ya!!! It's sheer torture on earth!! Imagine all the PMS and menopause and perimenopause and pregnancy hormones... all raging in one hot cauldron!

nothing compares to kid noise.
kids crying cos there was an argument/fight
kids arguing cos they both want the same toy
a billion kids trying to ask you a question
and ALL want your attention at the same time
the kettle is boiling, the phone is ringing
and one kid pulling your shirt cos she's got a stomachache
and need medicated oil NOW
or possibly a small cut, and need plaster NOW
and suddenly you hear another two kids shouting
asking the rest to SHUT UP cos its too loud
and all the rest responding by shouting back "YOU SHUT UP YOURSELF LAHHHHHH"
All this happening at the same time.

-shake head- tt was holiday time at my student centre for u. previous job.
100 kids squeezed into close quarters going insane during holiday time
is notttttttttt a nice place to be. -
