Quite a number of us come into the forums to have fun, relax, say whimsical stuff, or chit chat with our online acquaintances. Needless to say, most of us normal folks log on for the feel-good thang we derive from our online activities.
I myself have been guilty of going on and on about nothing substantial, I've also said stupid, silly stuff and shared crazy ideas. Thing is, I'm comfortable doing that cause I know that I won't be attacked to shreds even when I'm being silly in here, even when I post flighty thoughts that I know I might be embarrassed about should I dissect it tomorrow and analyze it to death. But that doesn't matter... because most of us just want to be heard and some of us learn from the advice and opinions of others that we get in here.
I wish to maintain this feel-good effect of this forum. If we have criticisms to make, let them be constructive criticisms borne out of goodwill. Afterall, a tender word does soothe the soul and that's something I have to learn to do as well because at times, I can be quite caustic, sharp and perhaps, a tad unforgiving in my remarks.
This is something I have to learn and something that I hope we will all bear in mind. It is better to correct gently, to rebuke, than to pick up swords and wage a scathing battle of words and more.
We have much to learn from each other, no matter what age, background, creed, beliefs, etc. I love the diversity in here, but sometimes, it's hard for me to accept how different someone else is, but I try to live and let live.
I want Club 30 to be a forum where no one will feel intimidated from speaking their minds, no matter how frivolous or silly. Because, hey, I'm silly most times too, talking rubbish!
