Maybe, I shall troop on down to Gluttons Bay @ The Esplanade tomorrow!
The porridge is pretty expensive and they're not open 24 hours, plus, they don't do home delivery.Originally posted by SydneyLibrarian:What about the one at Crystal Jade in HV? V. close to ur place.. and the porridge there is v. nice
Ho Kee too many MSGOriginally posted by Rhonda:Ho Kee porridge is very very nice... tastes homemade!
Congees from Crystal Jade are also very tasty! It's hard to cook congees like the Hong Kong restaurants do.

I like my porridge HOKKIEN style. Very sticky, not much water, just plain NUAH, with the grains of rice all 'open' liao. You can pick it up with your chop sticks with it barely dropping off.
Ooh.. but usually teochew porridge is.. more loose grains, watery. Like the standard teo chew porridge laOriginally posted by the Bear:mom makes it like that and she's teochew
and.. there are 4 places with Ho Kee... Maxwell Market, Tiong Bahru Market, Jurong East and the hawker place at the Esplanade..
they sell pretty good lotus leaf rice too
