There are several kinds of blenders, including hand-held blenders. What sort are you looking for?
If feeling extra extravagant, you could buy one tall one for blending smoothies and beverages, a hand-held one for making soups, and another short, squat one for food processing!
Wanted to get those less than $100 bucks blender but he didn't like it either.
Anyway we have not really shopped for one but the ones I see from KitchenAid looks good.
Thing about the kitchen equipment is that he uses them as well so need his approval too -
