Do girls subconsciously look for taller guys

We were chatting about height and couples.
I have been told by many a females that it looks better for the guy to be taller than the girl. How instance Tom cruise always gets a mention lol
So how wide spread is this attitude?
Are there any hopes for a shorter guy and taller gal? -
i won't mind if Mrs Bear's taller than me
but then, she'd be 6' 1"

I think many girls CONSCIOUSLY look for taller guys heehee
I'm real short so very difficult to find a guy shorter than me
but I know many girls who feel pai seh if the guy is a LOT shorter than them
a little is okay la. -

I'm 160 and so far I haven't had any gf shorter than me, so it probably means there are girls who go for character rather than looks bah, coz I look average. Not sure which ad, but once when I was in Sec school, I went out with a guy friend who is 1.8 to watch a movie. After the movie, when the crowd was moving towards the exit, he suddenly stopped and started looking around. I thought he saw a friend so waited lah. actually I was damn pai say.
later on in life, I had a crush on another 1.8m tall lanky guy. He too always joked abt me being short and round.. always say I am a ball rolling past.
Difficult not to feel self conscious when walking next to him. Think if you happen to be short and round (like me) it is best not to walk next to your polar opposite (tall and thin)
My hubby is normal height now
1.7m thereabouts. -

I prefer taller guys. Alas. In singapore, very hard to find de.

It's not subconscious, it's a very conscious thing!
When a cute guy is short (for purpose of discussion, short being defined by - shorter than average guys' height/my height, whichever is less), it's a minus point. Typical reaction - "Aiya, wasted , if only he was taller "
So yes being tall has its advantages.
But lack of height can be overlooked with the right person. Lots of things about a person are more important than height afterall! -
