Hmmm if they jailed every single person who smsed someone while driving, don't you think Changi Prison would be jam packed by now?Originally posted by gentlerock:Thanks for the replies, friends.....
freestyle, I cannot deny lah....if we dare to do something, then we should dare to stand up to the consequences. By the way, they confiscate your handphone so that they can trace your call timings.
If I get away with this lightly enough, I promise to drive carefully from now on, won't secretly go to pubs again, and will even contribute to NKF again or anything lah. Just please don't take away my licence 'cos I really need it for my job.....my job (and thus my mostgages, etc) is at risk.
After its all over, I'll come back and update you guys.....provided Changi prison has internet access.
This is frightening: http://www.spf.gov.sg/faq/traffic_hpdriving.htm

Since you can joke, I hope you are feeling better. Yeap, no need to be nervous. If first time offender and they jail you? Aiyoh, what place is this?
Gentlerock, so what's the verdict? Hopefully, they're not so harsh on you.Originally posted by gentlerock:Thanks for your concerns and suggestions again, people.....
It was clear that I was in the wrong, so I don't think I should do anything to blow it out of proportion. So I probably won't opt for lawyer or MP. Just face the music and hope for the best lah.
Yeah, I also heard from 3-4 friends who know about this (either they or their friends have gotten it before)....and they unanimously said that I'll have to attend court, get 12 demerit points and will probably be suspended for driving for a few months (6-12 months).
But then again, I've also heard of two recent cases where they just were fined and given demerit points, without suspension or anything else. Now there's some hope!
As littlestream said, que sera sera lah....

The torture is meant to be
Que Sera Sera
(By the way, Littlestream....the thing about having sensitive photos was real. Maybe after attending the court downstairs for traffic offences, I have to rush to the court upstairs to answer for possession of undesirable materials).
