i can't sew. Failed my home econs. SO badly tt recently a friend of mine met our old homecs teachers. She asked the teacher if she remembered her, the teacher said no. Then she mentioned my name. And the teacher said "oh the one that never sews in class huh."
it's scary to think you are immortalised that way in someone's memory.
I was looking at jigsaw puzzle sites but can't find that particular picture though some of her other artworks are there.
I remember for my class....no one did any sewing during sewing class because no one knew how to sew Everyone brought home their tunic for mummy to sewOriginally posted by Rhonda:
You must have been the only student she had who refused to sew during her class! But hey, it made you 'famous'!
I remember the stuff we had to do during Home Econs. The tunic they made us sew looked really prehistoric!
I really enjoyed Home Econs though. I remember when we had that module where they taught us how to fold muslin cloth nappies, I started to fold little ones using tissue paper during class, stick my two fingers through the leg holes and then make a kicking action with my fingers whilst imitating the wails of a baby, and that made my classmates giggle so much that it always disrupted class.
thats like kinda easy isn it?Originally posted by elindra:I remember for my class....no one did any sewing during sewing class because no one knew how to sew Everyone brought home their tunic for mummy to sew
I confess that I was sleeping through most of Home E classes except for the cooking class though I never used any recipes I learnt there
I wanted to opt for shop then instead of Home E but my school was like "Girls can only take Home E" so I was kinda determined not to learn anything back then
Anyway, Home E was only up till Sec 2 for me so no issues with 'O's
Btw, they were teaching us how to fold a cloth diaper.....whoever uses a cloth diaper these days anyway

Yeah I ended up taking design and tech for O levels. Actually it is a misconception that girls can ONLY take HOMec. Me and my friends were the first batch of girls who did D&T in my school cos we insisted. The teacher was good enough to give us 'catch up lessons' in the holidays. It was FAR FAR more fun than homec.Originally posted by elindra:I wanted to opt for shop then instead of Home E but my school was like "Girls can only take Home E" so I was kinda determined not to learn anything back then
