My mom believes that for people who've not had enough to eat while they're healthy and alive, when they're old, senile and rambling, they'll always feel hungry and look for food to eat. :p So I think sometimes it's good to indulge in your cravings. Don't wanna leave too many unfulfilled desires for your old age

THANK YOU!! Now, whenever I feel like pigging out, I've got the perfect excuse liao!
Actually, to tell you the truth, it's very heartbreaking to see the elderly sick and frail in bed, with a feeding tube in one of their nostrils, BEGGING you to buy hawker food for them to eat.
Sometimes, they will try to force their money on us missies to go and buy it for them. Other times, they will cry out of frustration when we repeatedly refuse and try to explain to them and they'll wail, "I'm already so old, going to die soon! Why can't you just let me eat / drink one last time?!" then they will cry and cry and it's soooooo painful to watch! 
One of my nurse friends will never forget this old man who kept begging her for a cup of coffee, but because of dietary restrictions imposed by the doctor, she cannot give him that. One day, she turned up to work and realised that he had passed away. She cried and cried because she said all he wanted was one cup of coffee before he died, and she wasn't allowed to give him even that!
So, yes... when you're able to eat, EAT!! -

Yep , I've seen these cases before too. When a person has little to live for, all he wants is some comfort and pleasure in the little things, like food.
