The place we saw up north, the owner countered. He wants 385 (we offered 340) and wants us to take over by the first of the month. No can do because I can't find someone to take over my current rental lease in that short time. Oh well. This place is an hour's drive one way for hubby. what's your current lease? a year? what's the penalty to break it?
i used to live in a village up north and worked downtown. the commute was like 3 hours each day, return trip. oh, i hate it. now? i work mid town and live just outside the greater toronto area. commute now is half an hour. what a relief. and the mobility of a car allows me to grocery shop any time of the week.
you know when i told my friends back in s'pore that all i want to do after work is to get home? they are like
they say "this is NOT the littlestream they know." ah.....i have changed. domesticated and aged.

Prices here are unbelieveable! San Diego is the 6th most expensive place to live in and the housing prices reflect that. I would love to remain in this neighbourhood but a typical house here costs $600K. Wow!!! That's really high!!! Like that, looks like I am stuck in Toronto liao. We are ranked 50th for most expensive city. Oh, over here if we break the lease, I think the peanlty is like 2 months rental. I think, I may be wrong but I know we can break lease. Actually, negotiable lah.

Seattle? Only as a last resort. After being overseas for so long and being stationed in places like Singapore, Hawaii and here, we are all used to the warmer climates. Yes things are cheaper in Seattle and we have family there but.... San Diego has a higher military presence than Seattle so jobs here are easier to find since Hubby is navy.
