Recommend some... classical CDs!

Am looking to buy some classical CDs for the library I work in... could you guys recommend some relatively new (2004 & newer) CDs for me to purchase?

Sorry SL, I don't know any CDs that new.
But if you don't mind a 2002 album, there's 'Vivaldi: Gloria' by Academy Of Ancient Music at King's College. http://music.msn.com/album/?album=38238384 Vivaldi's Gloria RV589 and Dixit Dominus are on it, they're very sweet sacred works.

Classical, whether new or old releases, are still more or less the same stuff, aren't they?
The last classical CD I bought was early last year, so I'm not familiar with the newer releases. I guess once you've bought one copy, you don't really need a newer copy.

Gary Bertini's complete Mahler cycle is pretty good, and its one of the cheapest available too. You get good renditions of all 10 symphonies. -

Not necessarily true, different conductors working with different orchestras at different venues produce different interpretations of the same score. And depending on your personal taste, you might like one version and hate the other. Its just like chicken rice tastes different depending on which stall you bought it from! In a Persian Market .....I forgot the name of the composer.....my brain is leaky lately...anyway his isn't really old time classical but I think his music is very good (German composer) Anyway he wrote quite a number of pieces. Buy the complilation
Or if you want something recent but not classical....maybe just grab Kelvin Kern's "Enchanted Garden" my SO is playing that CD to death -
