if it's throat infection i will think it's worth it to spend the money as anti-biotics really cures it rapidly. if not u're going to get tortured for weeks and u can't enjoy ur meals, can't do ur work well and can't really enjoy in the weekends etc.Originally posted by the Bear:what's the point when you're half ill, but not totally well.. and hovering around there...
the doc won't give you medical leave, he'll give you a bunch of pills readily available, and he'll hit you for about $40
and he'll give you antibiotics for no apparent reason...
then you gotta go back to work feeling worse, and $40 out of pocket...

if it's just fever, then some panadols and early sleep probably can make u feel better.

Hmmm.. can HOs prescribe meds for people (as in, non-patients)?Originally posted by Rhonda:I usually go to the clinic to get MC's.
Most of the time, I'll just put the meds they give me aside and not even touch it. UNLESS, I'm having some sorta bacterial infection, then I will guai guai finish the course of antibiotics. Or, unless I really need relief from my symptoms, then I will take the meds.
Most of the time, if I'm not feverish and feeling THAT under the weather, I'll just get the MO's at my workplace to fill out a prescription for me, and then I'll get it dispensed from our hospital pharmacy.

Originally posted by MooKu:hmmm common ailment/illnesses like flu i won't go... because he always gives the same medicine, i already have leftovers for use. it's totally pointless unless I need an MC.
otherwise for things like tonsilitis and diarrhoea going on for 3-4 days then i'll go... cos they're thingys i dunno how to cure via self-medication.
heehee. actually i see the doctor on average once every 6 weeks.Originally posted by the Bear:mookie!
