SL and I kept hearing one of our AMerican friends talking on and on about Krispy Kreme this and that. So, when I FINALLY had the chance to visit the US again, I went, and this time, I made sure I tried Krispy Kreme and whaddaya know, they had an outlet at the cafeteria of The Johns Hopkins Hospital, where I was at, and so, I had it quite often.

Krispy kreme is very new to Sydney... and they are completely different from any donuts we had in the past...
Conventional donuts we have had from corner shops or places like Donut King and etc have been the doughy variety with sugar/cin or topped with icing (which is realy foundant not icing u may glaze a cake with) and would be apllied to top layer only with hundreds and thousands.
Krispy Kreme on the other hand was a fluffy dough donut, light in texture and completely glazed all round making them crunchy... completely different taste from the conventionakl donuts.
Marketing is excellent and 24hr shop makes them good for hoons or midnight snack lol However i a do not know how successful they will be in the future.
Australians arent like americans in their consumption of donuts and Krispy kreme is sooooo sweet even compared to the ice donuts. On top of that we have lots of donut and coffee shops that sell other cakes which are much nicer to eat with coffee.
I noticed a new Krispy kreme opened next to Maccas and it doesnt seem too busy... more people in Maccas having coffee and cake.
Yes, but only the original flavour. I still find it awfully sweet though, & I don't like eating stuff that's too sweet! Heard they've also come up with an ice cream, but dunno how that is like.Originally posted by Rhonda:
So, SL... have you tried them yet?
Rhonda, if you like donuts, they are the best!Originally posted by SydneyLibrarian:Yes, but only the original flavour. I still find it awfully sweet though, & I don't like eating stuff that's too sweet! Heard they've also come up with an ice cream, but dunno how that is like.
They're opening up more stores in Sydney Even the airport has got one now... so you don't have to wait too long once you get off the plane in Sydney, you can head straight to the shop & eat to your heart's content!
Theoretically, a 'hole' cannot have anything inside one. That's why it's called a 'hole' mah!Originally posted by Crystal_Dumpling:Ask not why the donut has a hole, but why the hole has a donut.
They weren't delicious enough so fewer and fewer people bought them until finally, they had to close shop.Originally posted by Kuali Baba:What happened to all the Dunkin' Donut outlets here?
