for Singaporeans packed into our pigeon holes then ? ...
and people wonder why there are more youths fighting on the streets now .... why there are more road rage .... why there are more maid-abuses ... why people are more intolerant and impatient .....

So will the car owners be willing to squeeze in a train or drive in a comfy car?
PS. Sorry, av... had to edit some words off to make your post a bit more politically-correct so you won't get dragged off by the Men In Black tonight!Originally posted by av98m:You forgot to mention one thing, animals packed too closely together also do not reproduce. e.g. lab rats. And our ministers still wonder why the birth rate keeps falling!
KL is now looking at SGOriginally posted by elindra:Let's talk about lack of parking space and traffic jams due to too many cars and the government thinking that putting up more ERP gantrys will ease the traffic.
That's total bullshit man. It's just an excuse to milk more money
It's just gonna get worseOriginally posted by Rhonda:And yesterday, in the News at 9:30pm on Ch 5, it was announced that the govt will be building more 2-room flats for the lower income people!
WHAT THE!!!!
Do they realise that we're taking one-step back this way? You would think that there's no more need for two-room flats but then, it's a shock to me that we have large no.s of people who are still that poor!!

A few months back, when they were talking about some job fair, it was revealed then that up to 60,000 people are still without jobs! I was !!!Originally posted by elindra:It's just gonna get worse
The rich gets richer and the poor, poorer
Don't forget that inflation is always there but the pay is not rising up fast enough
The middle income group has to try to climb up or they will slowly slide into the lower income bracket
u must think that the govt lives in landed properties and dun take buses/mrt, so it is ok for themOriginally posted by Rhonda:This question, of course, is contrary to the govt's plans to hit a population of what... 6 million??
They just didn't want everyone to know. The realities are shocking, and more will come.Originally posted by Rhonda:And yesterday, in the News at 9:30pm on Ch 5, it was announced that the govt will be building more 2-room flats for the lower income people!

One way to solve the current MRT ultra high loading is to reintroduce the old bus svs at the downstream areas nearer to CBD such as at Clementi, Bedok, Ang Mo Kio and Toa Payoh. But it would not be a long term solution as our roads are likely to get more congestedOriginally posted by Rhonda:Would our public transport system be able to take future population surges?
You beat me to it! I was going to post this next!Originally posted by SnowFlag:Singapore has one of the lowest birth rate...so the increase is due to the foreign workers and permanent residents

Maybe one day we will become like Japan where the kids are so demoralised at school because they feel even by having a good education won't get them anywhere so they might as well not try as they see their future as bleak.
People don't wanna have kids because that means you have to sacrifice your current lifestyle and also kids = additional expenses.
Also with people working day and night everyday, not many will want to sacrifice their rest time as well.
I agree...Originally posted by elindra:Let's talk about lack of parking space and traffic jams due to too many cars and the government thinking that putting up more ERP gantrys will ease the traffic.
