Imagine you have already worked for 8 hours a day.
If you still see your gf (Colleague) after work, she will remind you of more work.
Both of you will talk more about work, work and work.
If you are nice to another gal, then you will see immediate firepower during lunch.
Worse scenerio is when both of you break up.
You and your gf will become the topic of the office.
What for ????? -

Why should the workplace spoil the chance of the love? Love is the most wonderful thing that can happen, to reject or kill this thing is the biggest mistake one can make. Workplace or any other place, the love makes no difference, it doesn't choose.
I'm wondering that people make it an issue worth to be put up as a thread if it is in the workplace. -
What if love struck you? And then, colleague or not, you won't be able to help falling in love with the person.
If you've really met someone who's right for you, it's hard to let the fact that you both work for the same company to deter you.
When that happens, it's best if both work in different departments where there are no direct dealings with each other, and no possibility for percuniary interests to mar the professional judgement of both.
However, if there are conflicting interests at work, then it's best if one of them seek employment in a different firm.
I've seen couples meet in the workplace, date, and eventually get married. It can actually work, under certain circumstances, of course.

There are lots of things to consider although, it's true, once you've fallen in love, being in the same workplace might hardly deter the couple!

Never,never date a gal or guy from yr workplace!!! Trust me... U can get a partner from social outing,friend introduction or whatever but never get one from work place unless u r going to quit soon.

There was one particular American MNC I worked for that had four married couples working in the same company and they all met whilst working there. And besides, if the couple works in the same department, or if their job involves working with each other, it can get tricky.
Or, if one of them is the superior of the other, it can invite gossip from colleagues in the same dept who might think that there's favouritism.
Not to mention there are bosses and colleagues who might frown on this and henceforth 'make life difficult' for the couple.
And then, what if there's a breakup or a lovers' quarrel? Wah... if they're both working in the same dept, can hardly avoid each other! No breathing space, so torturous, man!
I guess the culture of the workplace will also affect the couple. That American MNC I worked in with the four married couples had a very 'open', Westernised culture cause we had a huge percentage of Americans and other Caucasians and foreigners working under the same roof. -

of cos if u want in the workplace by all means go ahead. nobody stopping. different people have different perspectives not everyone thinks the same. there's actually no right or wrong opinions.

But hearing someone else's perspective teaches me things. Sometimes, it's hard to accept, especially if the other perspective is out of your 'comfort zone', y'know... but it takes some getting used to, then depending on circumstances you might, or might not eventually make use of others' opinions to broaden your own horizon.
Not that easy though... sometimes, out of bad habit, or out of a sheer desire to stay within that 'comfort zone', we'd rather hang on to our own thinking.

yeah its good to be open minded.... flexible.... easy going when sharing.
its normal people stick to own comfort zone but the decision choice still yours. to empathize with other's experiences gives oneself wider flexibilty and ideas to cope with many situations. -
