Just for info, I heard on the news last night, People's Mag has cover story of the salaries of different industry. Nurses earn US$45k p.a. My girl friend who is a mid wife earns C$65k. But she got a calling and now works part time only. She spends most of her time on missionary work. Great gal!
But, what to do... mom didn't like the idea of her daughter being so far away! She's happier with me going to Australia.
And then now, when I'm facing royal delays in paperwork cause of the inefficiencies of the Aussie agencies, she asks, "Is it discrimination?" and then mumbled, "Should have gone to the US cause they are a little less discriminatory..."
