The couples are there for a happy event, and you push your divorce ctr cards to them?! And you think they'll be happy about it?! They'll most likely beat you up and tear your cards to shreds, and then maybe, sue you for harrassment or something!
This is like distributing Funeral Services cards to people who are hospitalised! -

these days more pple little little things divorce, never even give a single chance and forgotten about marriage vows they used to swore for. the innocent ones are the kids, who have to suffer emotional and broken family in their childhood. -

Love only makes one see the sunny side. Marriage by two is a good thing to do. But registering marriage is quite a different deal. A registered marriage introduces an ugly side. When things don't work out, so does the love and the marriage turns from beautiful to ugly. Because the system punishes those who divorce heavily, better to be safe than sorry. Want to marry? Fine but please don't register - registration only allows the lawyers, HDB to make money when divorce takes place.

I think Bear was trying to illustrate to you, that just like you said KB can't be responsible for the divorces cause he wasn't even conceived then, neither can you be the reason why your parents married, cause you weren't conceived then either. (OK, unless it was a shotgun marriage. ) Maybe, they married to have children, to start a family, but not for 'you' specifically because you didn't even exist then.
I guess it was along that trend of thought, somewhat like the chicken and egg issue.
