Ok I'll bring a book later too.Originally posted by Rhonda:Yo! Just came up with a pretty interesting idea!
Y'know there's this program where you register a book online then after you've read it, you write a msg onto the cover page and leave it anywhere, eg. bus stop / airport / canteen, etc and tell the person who picks it up to read it and pass it on? Why don't we have our own 'reading carousel'?
I'm going to start the ball rolling with our first book - "When the Emperor was Divine" by Julie Otsuka.
Tonight, since a few of us are going to enjoy dinner together, I'll pass the book on to someone, who'll then read the book, sign on it, then hand it over to another Club 30 peep, who'll then repeat the steps!
I've chosen a relatively thin book that's easy to read in the hope that it will be read within a short time and thus will be able to make quite a few rounds.
Once you've read the book and signed on the page, please post here to let us know :
- Whether you liked the book;
- Share extracts from the book that you liked; and
- Who you have passed it on to.
I'll try and see if I have other books that I've read and can release to the Reading Carousel this evening!
Let's start the ride!
BTW, who wants to be the first 'rider'? Bear? Elindra? Ferret??
OK! OK! We have a 2nd Release liao! BTW, what's the title of the book?Originally posted by Ferret:Ok I'll bring a book later too.

very thick meh.. my bro and i read very fast finish liao..Originally posted by Rhonda:
That book is so thick, plus, it's reliant on whether readers like that genre or not, so it might inadvertently cause the carousel to jam for a long, long time one!

Y'know, this reminds me of a TY beanie that was sent around the world, and each time it arrived at a destination, the receipient would act like a gracious hostess and take a photo of it.Originally posted by breytonhartge:Bring it with you when you come, I would like to join the ride... hehe
So let it be!Originally posted by elindra:I don't have a book on me. Paper notebook want or not?
Sounds interesting but aren't you worried your book might end up torn and tattered?

It's not so much the age group but the genre. I know of friends in their 30's and 40's who enjoy reading Harry Potter! And two of them are Americans!
It's like LOTR and Roald Dahl... not so much age-specific as gentre-specific.
for sure. would be interested. have you seen SL? she has gone quite for a while now...Originally posted by Rhonda:Provided the folks here have finished with it by then!
We can always start a new release from wherever we are, y'know!
