"When the Emperor was Divine" by Julie Otsuka
I finished the book about an hour on my way to the chiropractor this morning. It is an easy read; simple, clean, to the point sentances, which deliver the emotions with an oopmh
It basically goes through the feelings, emotions, thoughts which the people on the other side of the fence will feel on the enemy grounds, though I think they are being treated a hell lot better.
I find that the whole book is almost like a circle.... you give up your stuff, you move and dream about your old life and try not to think about the future....you finally get the chance to go back to your old life but you realise that it will never be the same and you carry on dreaming and trying to find your way to move forward and thinking of the 'new' life you just left behind.
Ok ok I know I sound confusing but I really don't want to let on too much or it will spoil the fun of reading the book.
It's an interesting book and easy to read too so who wants me to pass the book to them

I can finish Harry Potter books in a day or less...what is a thin book like this to me -
Well, if the prose is good, I like to take my time to read it cause that's how I savour the book! (Machiam like talking about food like that!
) It's my way of doing justice to good writing!
I can't remember much about that book though... cause I read it way too fast, and it was some time back too. I remember thinking that the writing style was very 'flat' and somewhat bland.
Like, when I was reading one of Anita Shreve's books, I read really slowly cause she wrote beautifully, and when I was near the end of the book, I read lagi slowly, 'daydreaming' of what I had just read every few paragraphs... I sooooo didn't want the book to end! -

Sherlock Holmes fans, especially female ones, should read The Beekeeper's Apprentice by Laurie R King. It is the first book of a series. Highly recommended!!
P.S. If I had to summarise that book in one sentence, it wwould be:
Sherlock Holmes Robs The Cradle.

I've just finished Adventures of a Shopaholic. Pretty light reading. I have a couple of books which I'm reading simultaneously - The Good Earth and The #1 Ladies Detective Agency.
