The only gripe I have about Extreme Makeover is that the designs doesn't seem to take into consideration the daily maintenanceOriginally posted by Rhonda:Hmm... You're right about the sturdiness though... sometimes, what they put up look flimsy!
But ooooh... big budget Extreme Makeover (Home) is a different thing altogether! They are soooo generous in the appliances they use, etc!
For some of the wonderful and beautiful ideas, I can just imagine the cleaning involved

In a recent episode, a family had an extension to their house and a backyard with a 'river' flowing through into a koi pond at one end, and a li'l bridge over the 'river' with a campsite on the 'island'. All very very spectacular and stunning, but if they don't hire gardeners to maintain the landscape, it'll look like Weeds Central, the Mystical Green River of Mould and the Isle of Creepy Crawlies soon! 
Also, did you notice how everything looks lovely but they don't seem to provide enough storage space for the family? -
