lungs are caked in tar as i was in the casino being "grilled" for statistical purposes by my gambling friends
every other person in the casino was smoking away furiously and everything smells of ciggies
relaxing time was had to be there.. drinking too much and just doing nothing
nice hotel, 14-seater coach with movies and music at your personal tv screen like a business-class airline seat, meal vouchers, all for $100
not too bad.. maybe next year i'll go again when the rec club goes... maybe go with the rest of the mob to KL for a day -

I want my area to be contested because I want to be able to put my money where my mouth is and vote against the ruling party. I did that last GE and I'll do that again this time.
See, this is what I don't get about many Singaporeans. They bitch and moan about the ruling party and yet are too lazy to vote. Or worse, vote for the ruling party again out of fear or greed.
I'm hoping(although it is highly unlikely), that the opposition actually captures a GRC and shakes the ruling party out of their arrogance and complacency. -
I haven't voted before either ... but I wouldn't cast my vote along party lines ... I will not vote for the opposition for the sake of having opposition. If they are not up to the mark, they won't get my vote, period. And if they aren't up to the mark in the first place, please don't even bother contesting cause it is just a waste of our time!
This time round though, there are quite a few good candidates for the opposition parties. However, mom and I wince each time a few of them speak cause they cannot even express themselves well. Bleah! -

The reason why I will vote "blindly" for the opposition is simply this:
If people showed greater willingness to give the opposition a chance, it will in fact help to attract better candidates for the opposition. Sure there will be some growing pains involved, but you've got to break a few eggs to make an omelette. The ruling party fosters fear via the generally kiasee Singaporeans to their advantage.
A friend once told me this "even if a monkey wearing golden underwear showed up to contest against the ruling party incumbent I'd vote for the monkey" -
