Winter will roll out her fleecy white carpet for me!Originally posted by Meia Gisborn:Ryan did an okay job in that movie. I liked her best in "The Presidio," where she played Mark Harmon's love interest.
By the way, what's the latest on your departure plans?
Oi, you going to Australia or Antarctica?Originally posted by Rhonda:Winter will roll out her fleecy white carpet for me!

Nope. Plenty of very bad movies were made during that era too. Same with present day. Some good movies. Plenty of bad movies.Originally posted by the Bear:Holly Golightly... and her cat.. and the male pro who fell in love with her...
not ashamed to say that tears were shed watching that movie... each time...
another wonderful one by the delightful Audrey Hepburn was Roman Holiday...
is it me or compared to the movies in the past, these days, the movies seem so ham-fisted?

my area sure no contest, have to wait till the LKK die then possibleOriginally posted by Rhonda:Please don't anyone contest in my area so that we can have a REAL holiday on Voting Day!
I haven't voted before either ... but I wouldn't cast my vote along party lines ... I'll have to see the candidate's face first ....Originally posted by av98m:I want my area to be contested because I want to be able to put my money where my mouth is and vote against the ruling party. I did that last GE and I'll do that again this time.
See, this is what I don't get about many Singaporeans. They bitch and moan about the ruling party and yet are too lazy to vote. Or worse, vote for the ruling party again out of fear or greed.
I'm hoping(although it is highly unlikely), that the opposition actually captures a GRC and shakes the ruling party out of their arrogance and complacency.
The last time some opposition contested here, he was such a sad candidate that it was an utter waste of time! I will not vote for the opposition for the sake of having opposition. If they are not up to the mark, they won't get my vote, period. And if they aren't up to the mark in the first place, please don't even bother contesting cause it is just a waste of our time!Originally posted by av98m:I want my area to be contested because I want to be able to put my money where my mouth is and vote against the ruling party. The slipper man from sda looks like monkey, so can vote for himOriginally posted by av98m:The reason why I will vote "blindly" for the opposition is simply this:
If people showed greater willingness to give the opposition a chance, it will in fact help to attract better candidates for the opposition. Sure there will be some growing pains involved, but you've got to break a few eggs to make an omelette. The ruling party fosters fear via the generally kiasee Singaporeans to their advantage.
A friend once told me this "even if a monkey wearing golden underwear showed up to contest against the ruling party incumbent I'd vote for the monkey"
OK, I've read this book on Chinese eroticism and I totally got the innuendo!Originally posted by Fatum:I haven't voted before either ... but I wouldn't cast my vote along party lines ... I'll have to see the candidate's face first ....
