I have seen retailer co like say Kao and Lion have outsourced their marketing dept by giving it to a 3rd party to distribute their goodsOriginally posted by elindra:What do you wanna ask?
I'm confused. Marketing and Distribution are different matters.Originally posted by sbst275:I have seen retailer co like say Kao and Lion have outsourced their marketing dept by giving it to a 3rd party to distribute their goods
I know it has created lots of prob... But why they still wanna outsource it?
Kk... It's distributionOriginally posted by elindra:I'm confused. Marketing and Distribution are different matters.
Are you saying that their Marketing is outsourced and the company handling it is doing a bad job marketing the product or are you saying that their appointed Distributor is not doing their job distributing their product
For Lion, I do know that they have their own internal Marketing department
Ok so we're talking about Kao....Originally posted by sbst275:Kk... It's distribution
Lion, I know most of the SKU range are given to PSC to distribute the products (I know some Kodomo and Shukubutsu PSC didn't take, partly because of low sales vol)
No No... Like I know Kao, they gave it to a distributer... Goods return is the most headache, return say 4 ctn of Attack (Box type, no longer in production) they dun wanna collect cost each credit note they are paid $10 regardless of the qty... Isn't it creating lower efficiency?
YeapOriginally posted by elindra:Ok so we're talking about Kao....
Let me see if I'm understanding you correctly.
If they do not collect back the returns from whichever supermarket, but advised Kao that there are these returns, they are still being paid $10 per credit note regardless of the qty?
Am I correct to saya that even if they collected the returns, they are still paid $10?
Well, it could be that the effort involved to collect and get rid of the product is not worth $10 and it is cheaper to get the stores to throw away the items.Originally posted by sbst275:Yeap
No, only when they take the job then they are paid $10
I seeOriginally posted by elindra:Well, it could be that the effort involved to collect and get rid of the product is not worth $10 and it is cheaper to get the stores to throw away the items.

I don't see why is it funny since NTUC do import items themselves and rice may just be one of the products they direct import.Originally posted by sbst275:I see
Like this the chap huey tiam gain, cos the credit note, the amt has been deducted
NTUC, they funny one.. Even rice, a bulky item, they also keep in their wharehouse
Parallel import diff mahOriginally posted by elindra:I don't see why is it funny since NTUC do import items themselves and rice may just be one of the products they direct import.
If they are the importer, they will have to keep it in their own warehouse, plus its all consolidated delivery by their own trucks.
WahOriginally posted by elindra:I have to add that for NTUC, even if it is not direct import, the supplier can choose to deliver to their warehouse, and NTUC collects storage fees and merchandising rebates etc from the supplier
You think the supermarkets are stupid issit. NTUC is not the only one doing this ok.Originally posted by sbst275:Wah
Already they ask supplier to absorb the GST increase years back for them
What to do??? They are big
