I also can't stand reading books on some deadline. I'd rather read at my own leisure. Sometimes, I'll read non-stop and finish the book real fast. My ex and I used to share my Michael Crichton novels. I was building up a tidy li'l collection when, guess what... one fine day, he thought he'd do me a 'favour' by selling the Crichton novels to the 2nd hand bookshop and when I returned home and found the shelf empty, I almost turned blue and died when I realised he'd sold my collection!Originally posted by jetta:Every time we move, the movers take one look at our books and go

Yippee!! I've finished reading "He's Got to Go" by Sheila O'Flannigan!
It's the 2nd chick-lit book I've read this year and the first by O'Flannigan. It was a very enjoyable read!

I just borrowed the DVD on Tuesdays with Morrie. Haven't seen it yet though, plan to do so soon... -
Didn't realise this book is the first of a trilogy. Now I have to wait for a couple of years for the second one and get ripped off by the hardcover versions..... -

The Three Fates - Nora Roberts
For those who are familiar with Greek Mythology, the Three Fates are: Clotho, who spins the Thread of Life, Lachesis, who allots the length of the yarn, and Atropos who cuts the cloth. It is said that the events of one's life is spun and woven into this cloth, and there is nothing that can be done to alter it.
The book tells of the quest to find these mythical statues, believed to be the only one of its kind. They are 3 separate statues, joined at the base - and each without the other is practically worthless.
In a story spanning 3 generations, the search for the statues to make them whole continues - snippets of history cleverly interwoven to make it more of an entertaining read than a lesson in Greek history.
What left me wanting at the end of the tale was just the fact that there weren't as much details as I would've preferred the book to have... but all in all, a great book for those lazy afternoons. -
