Well, it's time for me to bid farewell, adieu, to all of you. Today's my last day in Singapore. I'm taking the red eye tonight and I'll wake up tomorrow ... in MELBOURNE!!!! Wheeeee!!
Take care, all of you! I'll log on when I get settled. Thanks for the lively discussions and the feasts and outings and all that. We may be a young forum but we're throbbing with activity and best of all, some of us have become firm friends.
See y'all again soon!!

Well, I wanna try to be more open-minded there. It's time to force myself to think out of my comfort zone and out of the rigid box. There's a whole new world out there for me to explore and relearn!Originally posted by the Bear:being a quitter doesn't mean you gotta leave the country
you can go over there, bringing the same attitudes, the same desperation and the same everything with you... and it's just another place, another time, but the same old, same old...
it's something i know the cult leader will not do
when you're back online, i'll tell you where to go to get the best and most reasonable souvlaki in town
OOOOoooooh Yessssssss!!!Originally posted by Meia Gisborn:Feels great to be a Quitter, doesn't it?
Welcome to your new life. You've waited long enough. Savour it. Enjoy it. You've earned it.

Hopeless, man!! I'm every inch a Singaporean - cause I'm still shopping at the eleventh hour!!
Yeah, boss! Kopi's going to be majorly pissed with me!Originally posted by the Bear:tell you what.. go make kopi insanely jealous by posting a pic of a souvlaki and a bowl of viet pho
my sis will be there in a couple of weeks but she'll be staying in the 'sua teng'
my folks are going to visit her when she's settled but i've been made to stay home and watch over the house.. which suits me just fine... 2 weeks of the folks not pestering me... sounds like a vacation in itself
again, look after yourself there, learn to drive (very important) and eat a couple of souvlakis for us here
Orh... I hope to return for a visit in Nov, if possible. If not, first quarter of next year then!Originally posted by the Bear:no no.. a singaporean will buy bak kwa and chilli and then get into an argument with the customs and quarantine people at melbourne airport
in other news, when you reappear in singapore and want to buy stuff for your new colleagues in the future, you can go to places like Perlini's Silver and get the cheap 925 silver things for them... it's italian silver which i don't think they have in melbourne... and did i mention "cheap"
And then she can bring me there when I go to visit! Whereabouts in Melbourne is it at, btw?Originally posted by the Bear:...when you're back online, i'll tell you where to go to get the best and most reasonable souvlaki in town
Soooo happy you're finally coming over to my part of the world (well, close enuf, anyway! ) I have to go visit you soon & do some major shopping/eating! If you're reading this before you leave, here's wishing you a good flight, and sleep well hor! (or at least, TRY to sleep well, knowing how excited you'd be :p) The reason I say sleep well is so you can have enuf energy to SHOP once you arrive! hehe!Originally posted by Rhonda:Hellooooo!

After some time there, we expect you to come back at least as a tanned surfer babeOriginally posted by Rhonda:Well, I wanna try to be more open-minded there. I'm also determined to get outdoors more and maybe get into water sports again! That's stuff that I really used to like - swimming, canoeing, dragon-boating, and whilst I don't think there's dragon-boating there, there are other water sports to try! I'm really keen on Jet Skiing and Rowing!
Well, you can put up a post on where to find the best chow and all else and when I log on, I'll take note!
Soooo exciting!!!!!!
Eh... tanned is achievable! But erm... the surfer babe bit... hard, leh!Originally posted by DriftingGuy:After some time there, we expect you to come back at least as a tanned surfer babe
