Hmmm are all guys guilty of this
-grumble- yaloh. I remember going to a hostel in UK with 4 floors no lift... and blardy hell.. the guys all queue up volunteer to take luggage up for the chio girls.. and poor me lug it up meself... sigh always like this one... -sniff-
Anyway, I go trekking with a mixed group sometimes. While the load for the guys is often slightly heavier than the girls (average for guys - 17-18 kg, girls would be 15-16kg sometimes 13-14 depending on bodyweight), it generally evens out.
It is funny though cos at the beginning of the course, you have to KEEP REMINDING the guys NOT to overload themselves (cos if you are strong, you really should standby for emergencies) and for the girls NOT to take it for granted that all heavy work shd be done by the guys, cos when the strongest one falls, all the weaker ones have to split the load - which is even WORSE. There was actually one time when one of the strongest guys had heat exhaustion and 1 guy 2 girls need to split his load - then they realised HOW MUCH MORE he's been carrying cos they just took it for granted.
Anyway.. it is sweet though, if a guy offers to carry my supermarket basket for me. It only EVER happened once (before my hubby laaa) so sweet
