All electrical appliances must be renewed after some years because of electrical conductors tended to carbonise which ended consuming higher energy.
My sister changed her air conditioner, the bill dropped by 1/2. Remember to buy only energy and environment friendly one. Don't buy cheap one no good. Ended with high fee. -

Here in the Minnesota, electricity consumption usually peaks at the height of summer when most air conditioners are in operation. In order to help "stabilize" the demand, the utility company offers a 10% rebate on your residential electricity bill if you agree to install a cutoff switch on your a/c unit. This switch is operated by the utility company, and they use it to switch off your a/c unit during periods of peak demand to help reduce the strain on the power grid. There is no charge to have the switch installed, and by law, the utility company can not deactivate the a/c unit for more than 10 minutes per hour. -
That is not really possible, when the gov has privatised the energy market. I am not very sure about how it works. But the 4 power stations act as 4 competing firms selling power to Singapore Power. i am not sure, but if there is such a device implemented here, would it affect the energy market ??

Competition is good for singapore, foreigner will see singapore as a small country with many competition.
My understanding is that electric and gas are controlled by Energy Market..where actually may no be required.
It should give them a free hand to decide what price they can provide us since we are open market. I believed that the service will be even better. Don't you think so?
With 4 power stations, we shall have 4 CEOs and each trying to out do each other to give better return to their valueable customers. I think they are all doing a good job. -

Every time you on something, it tended to quicken for initial state. Subsequently, it will go back to normal. However if you have fridge or air-con on, the effect is still there but lesser. -
yup...and i think lets say you plug in a plug and switch on the switch, but the equipment like TV, PC, etc never switch on, also will use up electricity.
