Being so far away from the Sg foods that I so love, cravings happen all the time. The one dish that always satisfies me would be chicken rice, with all the condiments. Mmmmmmmmmm.... Brings back memories of childhood days.

that fried lovely greasy noodles thing with chunks of lard...usually with cockles...whats that called??

Awww.........this is a case of reading this thread at a wrong time.
Remember this strip mall across my house? Well, a new cafe opened, right? So, hubby and I tot "well, give some support, go try". I ordered cha kuey teow and hubby ordered chicken rice.
Guess what? I didn't touch the kuay teow at all. Got curry powder one. And hubby's chicken rice was yellow and the chicken seemed to have gone on a crash diet.
And the lady boss gave us "things to hear". She said "even if you don't eat/finish, we will still charge" WTF, I didn't even say I wasn't going to pay up!!!!!
I was fuming and said my piece. Really, nobody wants to get me started 'cos you need a bouncer to stop me. 
Anyways, we paid up and drove over to our fav/reg haunt. Had jiu hu eng chai. And yes, I have cooled down. Well, sort of. Not worth getting all worked up. But I will definitely "sing" her restaurant to my friends.
Vindictive? Yeah, perhaps. Only when provoked.

for myself, i dunno.. i may eat a lot of stuff.. and a huge variety of stuff.. but i don't really like, miss anything so much or have comfort food...
maybe coz i'm easily satisfied?

Yes, my comfort food would be chicken rice with all it's condiments too and another food that never fails to cheer me up is Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia Ice-Cream.
Sometimes I'm kinda like Ally McBeal I think. When I'm upset or under stress it's always one tub of Ben & Jerry's -

corned beef and hash on a huge bed of white rice (must be served piping hot, with a few drops of hot sauce and onion powder)
big tub of ice cream
whipped cream (just spray right into my mouth) -
