Holy mackerel! I wonder how much will I get after 20-30 years if I park 35% in Unit Trusts and shares!Originally posted by Rhonda:Tax for them is most likely 35% or so. Still, not bad, right?

Just do perma weekend night shifts - Fri Sat Sun (it's 50% more pay for 20hrs plus other penalties) - 55k pre tax at RN year 3. That is what I used to earn before I switched to Canberra .Originally posted by Rhonda:OH MY GOSH!!!!
I found out last night that one of my colleagues, who's earning the highest salary cap for RN's here is earning over A$55K per annum pre-tax!
And another colleague who's earning that same cap but takes on extra shifts is earning over A$70K per annum pre-tax!
And they're just 'normal' nurses who've just had nine years of experience or more cause nurses' pay here is capped at Year 9.
Wow... another few years and I'll reach those levels! That's really SOMETHING to look forward to!!
