  StarHub has jammed RTM1's airwaves because they will be airing World Cup matches as well

  Since it's cable TV, they just jam from their central system

  not really jamming... but most of singapore get their tv through starhub's cable connections, whether they subscribe or not...
  
  they just stop carrying it on their lines...
  
  however, we can still use external aerials and antennas to receive RTM1 & RTM2

  Checked the ELCB then realised the mains is off... Wondering was it because of a sudden surge of power supply on the aircon that is on on our bedroom?

  So Starhub feeds a "default" package of basic cable TV programming to all outlets wired into their network, regardless of whether or not a subscription is purchased?

  It's rather an obligation
  
  Cos new flats no longer has atena at the block's roof
  
  So if you dun subscribe, you get TCS5, TCS8, Ch U, Suria, Central, CNA, RTM1 only
  
  Sports clearly I can remember is part of the basic 5 groups

  Here in the US, it's an "all or nothing" deal with cable and satelllte programming subscriptions. If you don't sign up for a package, that cable outlet in your wall is completely dead.
