I meant open up the pc. Need to clean the fan blades and other areas of the dust bunnies to restore its earlier silent operation. No compressed air so blower and brush will have to do.Originally posted by Fatum:you can just get those little cans of compressed air and poke around the bits with the little red tube ....
NEW YORK ? .....Originally posted by av98m:Reading the PAP..I mean the Straits Times this morning, Singapore has been ranked 30th out of 35 cities in a Reader's Digest survey on courtesy/helpfulness. Imagine my suprise.
Not a paper survey either. They planted their people in a variety of situations to test the reactions of the public during both peak and off peak hours. New York came in first. The bottom performers were asian cities.
I found NYC coming in first a little strange myself. But I was not suprised at Singapore's poor showing.Originally posted by Fatum:NEW YORK ? .....
I'd never imagine .....
perhaps RD got locals as plants ...... they should have gotten ang moh plants instead ..... watch Singaporeans go out of their way then ....

*Hands up*Originally posted by av98m:I read in the news the other day Durai has been given permission to leave Singapore.
Hands up those who think he's not going to come back to stand trial and that this is really a ploy by the higher ups to allow him to escape, leaving his former cronies to hold the bag.
Remember, you need to be an 'elite' and also with the right connections and the end result is very different from what is what we call 'by right'Originally posted by Fatum:*hands up ......
I remember this sri lankan artist who was given permission to "seek medical treatment" in australia while facing drug charges ...
he chabot'ed of course ....
sometimes I really wonder, is there one law for the rich, and one for the poor ? ...
The problem is, the rich have the money and resources to fight a long and drawn out court case. The poor sometimes plead guilty(when they are in fact innocent) or settle in order not to be financially ruined. And those who are too poor to pay the damages/fines have to go to jail! So the rich definitely have the advantage in the legal system.Originally posted by Fatum:*hands up ......

that is why I hate lawyers .... in any society in the world, they does nothing of value, but make their pile by obfuscating and complicating things .... it's like a giant, self-propagating conspiracy ! .....Originally posted by av98m:The problem is, the rich have the money and resources to fight a long and drawn out court case. In Singapore(and many other places as well), its often not what you do, but who you are that determines your fate if charged in court. Also, there are already certain organisations run by certain groups of people that are untouchable in Singapore. Not by the police, not by the judiciary.
I certainly hope I'm wrong about Durai.
