How do you occupy yourself on the plane?

How I envy those of you who don't suffer from motion sickness. I can only function on flights after popping some drammamine. Even so, I can only read a book for so long. Can't even play games because it just makes me dizzy. So all I can do is watch a movie or two and sleep sleep sleep.

I play on the gaming console, do some sketching, or - as I did on a recent medium-distance flight - down gin & tonic and doze off until touchdown.

The noise from the engine can be quite something.
But, I tried to sleep all the way.
Not really possible to read when your seat is cramped and people moving around.
That is why I hate long flight cos I feel miserable sleeping on the seat and kana wake up for food when I am sound asleep. -
i watch ppl drool n sleep . then play some games listen music. SIA girls nowadays getting more uglier . so will fall asleep. enjoy the meal on the plane and sleep again to deal with jet lag

sleep... and chat with the steward/stewardess.... if possible... try to travel business class....can sleep lying down...

If I'm sitting next to a complete stranger, I'll ask, "Are we there yet???" every couple of minutes until he either strangles me or asks for a seat reassignment.
Seriously, I'll while away the time reading a good book or a few magazines, and perhaps watch an in-flight movie or two (assuming the A/V equipment aboard the aging and poorly-maintained NWA aircraft is even working).
Sleep, however, is not in the cards. In all my years of air travel, I've never been able to get any shut-eye aboard an aircraft.
This is not intended as a thread hijack, but I am curious as to which seat you prefer on a long-haul flight. Do you prefer the window, middle or aisle seat? -

Once entered aircraft, immediately head to the toilet to "sapoo" the travelling toothbrush!
Pick aisle seat 'cos I drink tons of water. Go toilet easy mah. No need to "excuse me, excuse me". I bring my own water bottle so no need to bother the attendants too much.
Actually, I prefer emergency exit. The lady over the phone asked "are you tall?" Me replied "erm, no why?" she said "we only reserved those seats for those with long legs". Actually, she also forgot to add "and strong enough to open emergency doors".

Occupy myself? Count my toes, my fingers, twiddle thumbs, people watch, watch movies. Play with handset. Play inflight games. Ah na go boh de koon.
Me no like long haul flight. Actually, me no like flying at all. -
Like jetta and LS, I prefer the aisle seat for long-haul flights as it makes going to the john a lot easier. You also get "unlimited" elbow room on the aisle side of your seat. The price you pay is that people and service carts roaming the aisles always seem to bump into that protruding elbow; you also have to put up with the occupants of the middle and window seats having to wiggle their way past you to go to the toilet.
For short-haul flights of under three hours, I generally prefer a window seat for the view. -

i ALWAYS take the aisle seat. unless the person at the aisle seat is someone in my family.
cos i hate asking someone i dont know to get up so that i can leave my seat
and i leave my seat very often...not just to go to the washroom...but to take random walks on the plane...heh... -
I look at stewardesses bums as they walk by....and try to guess what kind of panties they are wearing.
