Things to do in Penang...

I haven't been to Penang for more than a decade, and I'm sure many things have changed!
Those of you who've gone... what fun things are there to do over there?
Am thinking of going in early December on my way to Singapore.... -
Eating is a good thing to do there.

Erhmm maybe you can go to Gurney drive to eat and the night market closer to the beach resorts....forgot the name of the place...
Anyway if you can, go to the Chinese Recreation Club resturant to eat. It's famous there and the food is really really good. There are a few more good resturants but I can't remember the names.
There is this Chi Zha stall at Gurney too but it's only opened for breakfast....I know how to go if I'm there but sorry I can't really help you here.
Other then that I guess temple visiting?
They have a few upmarket clubs in Penang now too. You might want to check them out. -

You can check out the early morning market.. these is at the old shophouses area...
Err buy some cheap lingerie if you can bear the scrutiny hurhurhurhur
Take the FREE city bus! This will take you to various places, such as Tourist Information, the shophouses area, the penang 'beach'....
The Penang 'Beach'... has clean toilets
We also went to this ... fella's house, it's beautifully blue in colour and did a heritage walk there. VEry interesting as this house is supposed to be THE example of fantastic fengshui.
Of course, you can eat a lot.. a lot!!!! Check out....
THE CENDOL is damn nice HERE near Penang Road. Its a small stall outside a small kopitiam with small teensy booths.... you can sit inside the kopitiam and order the CENDOL outside but gotta pay a bit for 'sitting' charges, unless you order a drink from the kopitiam owner as well. It's the ONLY kopitiam with a CENDOL booth hanging outside with lots of people braving their lives to savour the CENDOL.
Abovementioned Kopitiam has pretty good Penang Char Kway Teow depending on the wife's mood. The Penang Laksa here also not bad.
ABSOLUTELY imperative to visit this rice dumpling stall. It is... DAMN GOOD. Order the... SUPERBIG Rice Dumpling...
... that has.. HUGE chunks of meat, Wonderful CHUNKS of salted EGG... and CHESTNUT.... also don't miss their...
RED BEAN SOUP which is perfectly done, served well with the dumplings.. not too sweet, perfect perfect PERFECT combi.
DAMN! I LOVE PENANG FOOD! -
